A range of outdoor timber shelters have been designed by Cabinco in response to a demand from Schools for covered play areas and outdoor teaching facilities. This demand has grown with awareness of the problems caused by excessive exposure to the sun. After careful market research, we believe that this range of outdoor classrooms and shelters offers the best value on the market and would encourage you to compare our combination of high specification and competitive pricing.
All our outdoor teaching facilities are built to combine practicality with simple design and ensure a long lifespan. All upright columns, whether 115mm or 180mm, are laminated for increased strength and to reduce the chances of splitting as the timber ages which also increases the shelter life span.
Outdoor shelters are precision machined offsite with all timbers planed and pencil rounded to avoid splintering and “soften” corners. This allows for a quick installation on site of approx 1 -2 days reducing inconvenience and keeping costs down so enabling us to offer these very competitive prices. All timbers are pressure impregnated to prevent rot and come with a 10 year guarantee.

This is the most popular design from the Cabinco range of Outdoor Classrooms and Shelters, and we are confident it offers the best value on the market. It both looks attractive, is robust, and comes with a 10 year guarantee. It has sufficient seating for 28—35 children on its seven benches and can be installed onto tarmac or grass. Upright columns are laminated to prevent splitting, and all timbers are pressure impregnated to prevent rot. Standard roofing is either waterproof timber panel finish or Katepal Bitumen Shingle roofing in a selection of colours.
Options to upgrade to Sedum or Cedar Shingle roofing or add heavy duty decking
This was designed in consideration of all those schools with very limited space. The 4m x 4m square will fit nicely into a spare corner & make the best use of any available room. This is our lowest priced shelter, but it still retains all the high quality features of the others – making your budget go further. Installation onto grass or tarmac and ramps by arrangement.
This shelter was designed with the larger schools in mind. At 4m x 8m standard size, this shelter offers 32sqm of outdoor covered space and has huge potential for waiting shelters, sheltered play, outdoor teaching etc. This shelter has the benefit of 180mm laminated uprights for even greater strength and physical appeal. The laminated timber is much less likely to split than single timber columns increasing your long term confidence in this product.
There are options for T&G boarding to one or more walls to provide shelter from the wind. Benching can be installed to facilitate use as an outdoor classroom, or even an additional performance area.

We do recognize that each school will vary in its requirements and are more than happy to offer bespoke shelters at prices you would expect to pay ex-stock. We have also supplied a number of pergolas/walkways and covered entrances to schools across the UK in line with their individual preferences.
