Timber Classrooms Buildings - Case Studies
Lea Primary School & Jack in the Box Nursery – Herefordshire
2 x 100 – 120sqm Machine Profile log, Pre-school timber classrooms delivered via Herefordshire County Council
We worked directly with the end users to design bespoke timber nursery buildings according to the Nursery managers specific instructions. While they went through the process of raising funds for the build and engaging support from their key funders Herefordshire Council.
- Wewere part of the design team
- Council Contracts with repeat business
- Machine Profile Log (MPL) Timber construction
- Working with same key sub-contract team
These jobs were originally discussed separately and directly with the client, however, their funding source came through the Herefordshire Council, and after the initial designs and quotation had been prepared the clients were asked to progress through the councils tender process. Because of the complexities of the funding situation, our build system it was necessary to work alongside another main contractor on both these projects.
The main contractor issued the purchase order based on the drawings we had prepared and agreed with the end-user and council. We then issued them with a copy of the foundation layout plan in order that they could prepare foundations as per the build system requirements and in accordance with our Structural Engineers load bearing instructions.
Both timber classrooms took between 4 – 6 weeks to complete.
