Timber Roundhouse created from Waste Wood.
DFSC create beautiful building from surplus and waste timber.
This lovely little roundhouse provides a shelter and additional teaching space for the DFSC and made almost entirely from waste materials and forest wood. The Structural Timbers were found in forests around the site, windows were created from scrap (including a car window), some extra light in the walls enters through old bottles built into the walls, fallen tree trunks chopped into rounds creates the bulk of the walls. Infilled with soil and topped off with grass to create their own living roof.
This lovely little roundhouse shows off the best of sustainability and re-use of waste to create a base for learning. Bound to inspire lots of children to create dens and shelters of their own as well.
This lovely building sits alongside another roundhouse created by Cabinco – as a heated building which needs to meet Building Control, our roundhouse used renewable timbers which were cut for purpose, reclaimed cladding, and high levels of insulation.
